Unfortunately if you want to keep your lingerie in mint condition, you’ll need to put a bit more effort into it then simply throwing it in the washing machine. Here are our handy hints for keeping Freya Lingerie in great shape:

Hand wash only - sorry girls, but it will make a difference; machine washing causes Lycra to degrade quicker and Lycra is important for keeping that firm support. Our delicate laces and embroideries will last longer if washed gently by hand and anyway, wires an hook & eyes may cause damage to washing machines.
Do not dry clean - again, to stop that Lycra degrading.
Do not bleach - this will damage the delicate fabrics and affect the colours.
Do not iron (who has time to iron their undies anyway???) But if you are tempted, please don’t - it will ruin the embroideries and lace.
Do not tumble dry (reasons - same as first point).

Those in the know reckon that 80% of us are wearing the wrong size bra, with most of us wearing a back size that is too big and a cup size that is too small. Not only does this mean that we aren’t supporting our breasts in the right way (which could lead to unsightly saggy boobs in the not so distant future, as well as back and neck ache) but in addition, if you get fitted into a correctly fitting bra, it can totally transform your figure, putting the curves back in the right places and changing your silhouette dramatically.

So, we would strongly recommend getting yourself down to the lingerie department of a department store, or your local boutique and getting yourself measured professionally. Most of you will be pleasantly surprised - it’s great to learn that you’re actually slimmer round your rib cage and bigger up front than you thought.

However, this isn’t a one-off activity - we recommend that you go back for a fitting every 6 months or so. Our bodies are constantly changing so it’s important that we keep monitoring our bra size on an ongoing basis.

"Can I measure myself?" we hear some of you ask....well, sorry girls, but we wouldn’t recommend it. It’s difficult to measure yourself accurately, so you could still end up buying the wrong size. The consultants in department stores are specially trained to provide you with an accurate fit - and remember, they see hundreds of boobs a day, so there’s no need to be embarrassed - they will always be discreet, professional and will work hard to put you at ease.
